Rapid Non Destructive Moisture Measurement to a Depth of 30 mm
The Schaller Humimeter M30 Universal Material Moisture Meter measures suitable special materials non-destructively to a depth of 30 mm. The handheld meter is pressed flat against the material and returns a water-content result within seconds, allowing users to inspect a broader internal zone without cutting, drilling or preparing a sample.
Why It Matters
Moisture below the surface may remain hidden during a visual inspection. In calibrated applications, a deeper reading can help identify differences between areas, monitor conditioning or drying, and compare incoming or processed material before it is released. Fast averaging supports a more representative assessment when several readings are taken across a product or batch.
The M30 has a stated range of 0 to 100% water content, depending on product type, with 0.1% resolution and automatic temperature compensation. Measurement accuracy depends on a characteristic curve matched to the material. The manufacturer states that no characteristic curve is supplied on the device by default, so a laboratory analysis, curve creation or verified customer calibration is required before quantitative testing of a new material.
The instrument operates between 0 and 40 C and records results without sample preparation. A hold function keeps the current value on screen, while the internal data logger stores up to 10,000 measurements with measuring-point information. The housing measures 147 x 75 x 30 mm and weighs 265 g including batteries. Four AA alkaline batteries provide portable power, and an optional USB module supports data transfer to LogMemorizer software.
