Building and Timber Moisture Checks with Deep Wood Measurement
The Schaller Humimeter GF2 Set for Carpenters is a preconfigured sensor package built around the Schaller Humimeter GF2 for carpentry, interior fitting and timber-related building checks. It combines the GF2 contact plate with external conductivity equipment, a WLW hammer electrode and insulated 60 mm measuring tips for defined-depth readings in wood.
Why It Matters
Moisture in timber, plaster, screed or masonry can delay installation and increase the risk of dimensional change, poor finishes or concealed defects. A carpenter may need a quick overview at the surface and a targeted reading deeper inside a beam or support. Using the appropriate sensor for each task provides better evidence than relying on appearance alone.
The GF2 base instrument measures supported building materials non-destructively through its fixed round plate to a depth of 30 mm. The carpenter configuration extends the system with the WLW hammer for wood measurements in deeper layers. Insulated tips help define the test depth by limiting the active measuring area. The set can therefore support checks on walls, wooden beams, supports, plaster, parquet and other materials covered by the installed characteristic curves.
The GF2 provides results within seconds with automatic temperature compensation. Its stated range is 0 to 20% water content with 0.1% resolution. Readings can be held, saved manually or recorded in an automatic data logger with capacity for up to 10,000 values and measuring-point information. The package also includes a humidity and temperature sensor and a carrying case, while external sensors can be added or removed as requirements change.
The Schaller Humimeter GF2 Set for Carpenters supports fast building checks and deeper timber measurements in one adaptable system for installation and inspection work.
