Screed Floor and Ambient Condition Checks Before Installation
The Schaller Humimeter GF2 Set for Floor Layers is a preconfigured package for assessing floor materials and the surrounding climate with the Schaller Humimeter GF2. The non-destructive contact plate supports rapid screed and building-material checks, while the included humidity and temperature probe and infrared sensor add essential ambient and surface-temperature information.
Why It Matters
Floor installation depends on both the substrate and the conditions around it. Residual moisture in screed or another floor build-up can affect adhesives, timber products and resilient finishes. Relative humidity, dew point and surface temperature also help explain whether condensation or unsuitable site conditions could interfere with preparation and laying.
The GF2 measures supported materials through its fixed round plate to a depth of 30 mm, producing a result within seconds without sample preparation. Its stated range is 0 to 20% water content with 0.1% resolution and automatic temperature compensation. This provides a rapid, non-destructive screening method for estimating drying progress and selecting locations that may need further investigation or a specified confirmatory test.
The external humidity and temperature sensor measures relative humidity and supports calculation of absolute humidity, dew point and wood equilibrium moisture content. The non-contact infrared sensor covers temperatures from minus 25 to plus 125 C and uses a 16 cm measuring spot. Results can be held or saved, and the automatic data logger stores up to 10,000 values with measuring-point information. The supplied case keeps the instrument and sensors together between site visits.
The Schaller Humimeter GF2 Set for Floor Layers combines substrate screening with humidity, dew-point and surface-temperature data for clearer, more informed routine pre-installation site checks.
