The Aranet PoE Adapter 56VDC 0.275A is a passive Power over Ethernet (PoE) adapter designed to power the Aranet PRO Plus base station via its Ethernet port, delivering 56 V DC at up to 0.275 A. It allows the base station to receive both power and network data through a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation and reducing the need for a separate power outlet at the installation point.
Why It Matters
Installing a base station in a location that lacks a convenient mains power socket can add significant cost and complexity to a monitoring deployment, particularly in warehouses, greenhouses, or outdoor enclosures where power infrastructure is limited. Power over Ethernet eliminates this constraint by delivering power through the same cable used for network connectivity, enabling base stations to be mounted in the optimal location for sensor coverage rather than wherever a socket happens to be available.
The PoE adapter connects between the local network switch or router and the Aranet PRO Plus base station, injecting DC power onto the Ethernet cable without requiring a separate power supply at the base station end. It is designed specifically for use with the Aranet PRO Plus and PRO Plus LTE base stations and is not compatible with the Aranet PRO base station. For damp or outdoor installations, the optional PoE Injector Waterproof Case is recommended.
