Dual-Channel Measurement of PAR and Far-Red Light
The Aranet Apogee PAR/Far-Red Sensor S2-141 is a two-channel sensor that separately measures traditional PAR (PPFD) and far-red photon flux (700–760 nm), giving growers distinct, simultaneous readings for both rather than a single combined value. This allows for more precise analysis of how electric grow lights and natural daylight are influencing crop response.
Why It Matters
Far-red and PAR light affect plants differently, and lumping them into a single measurement can obscure important detail about the light environment. For growers managing lighting strategies around specific morphological or flowering responses, understanding the far-red fraction, the proportion of far-red photons relative to total light, can be just as important as overall light intensity. Without dual-channel data, this distinction is easy to miss.
The kit includes the Aranet Apogee Transmitter, the Apogee PAR/Far-Red Sensor (S2-141), and the Apogee Solar Mounting Bracket with Leveling Plate. As with other Aranet Pro series sensors, it integrates with the Aranet base station and Aranet Cloud, enabling wireless data transmission and remote monitoring.
The Aranet Apogee PAR/Far-Red Sensor S2-141 provides the dual-channel light data needed to understand and manage the relationship between PAR and far-red light in any growing environment.
