The Aranet Apogee ePAR SQ-610 is an extended-range PAR (ePAR) sensor that measures light beyond the standard PAR range, capturing wavelengths up to 750 nm. This makes it particularly valuable for growers whose crop steering and lighting strategy accounts for the role of far-red light in plant development.
Why It Matters
Far-red light influences key plant responses, including stem elongation, flowering, and shade-avoidance behaviour, but standard PAR sensors stop short of capturing it. For growers fine-tuning lighting recipes to manage these responses, relying on a sensor that excludes far-red wavelengths means missing a meaningful part of the picture, potentially leading to lighting strategies that don’t fully reflect how the crop is responding to its environment.
The kit includes the Aranet Apogee Transmitter, the Apogee 400–750 nm ePAR Sensor (SQ-610), and the Apogee Solar Mounting Bracket with Leveling Plate. As with other Aranet Pro series sensors, it integrates with the Aranet base station and Aranet Cloud for wireless data transmission and remote access.
